Psychological Astrology is a unique blend of Astrology, Depth Psychology and Classical Mythology. Its main aim is to increase awareness of self and other through a depth interpretation of the ancient symbolic language of the natal chart.

It is one of the oldest tools available for exploring and healing our psyche enabling each of us to live our life's journey in a more conscious fulfilling manner. This allows us to make real choices in life, enriching and freeing both our own life and that of those around us.

Similarly to Psychotherapy, it is both an art and a science. As with Jungian psychology it is based on a belief in the Unconscious - both Personal and Collective, which enriches our life when brought into awareness. To live a life steeped in unconsciousness we risk being at the mercy of internal complexes and fears. These use up much of our energy, restricting us from living full and rich lives of our choosing.

Psychological astrology works on many levels including the imaginative, mental and soul level. Through the use of mythological stories and archetypal images, your natal chart comes alive as an internal cast of characters. One of the most powerful Archetypes is that of "The Father" represented by the Sun in your chart. Mythlogically he is the hero/heroine best described by Joseph Campbell in "The Heroes Journey". This is the Solar Journey, which we are each invited to go on to discover who we truly are. In Jungian terminology this is the journey of Individuation.

At different stages in life such as our late 20's (Saturn return) and late 30's (midlife transits), as well as at times of other major life changes and transits, you are invited to "cross the Threshold" and embark on another phase of your Solar journey. In answering the "calling" you move a step closer to living out your true purpose or vocation in life thereby aligning yourself with your authentic self.

Unlike many other forms of astrology, Psychological Astrology is not predictive or divinistic. It is based on a belief in free will and choice. 

In 1983 Liz Greene, who was one the main pioneer of Psychological Astrology, set up the Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) in London, UK, with the late Psychologist and Astrologer Howard Sasportas. Other exponents of Psychological Astrology include the late Richard Idemon, USA and Clare Martin, UK.

The CPA is currently the only school in the world offering professional training and a world recognized qualification in Psychological Astrology. It teaches a unique course of the highest caliber, which requires individual psychotherapy as well as ongoing supervision. 

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study there for three years with some of the best astrology teachers in the world. Through my ongoing international teaching work with Liz Greene, I am now able to bring some of their seminars and courses to the USA and other countries.
